Biryani is a renowned Indian Food originate from Mughal Dynasty. It is made with spices, rice, and meat such as chicken, mutton, fish, beef or prawns. Here's the simple and easy recipe for making restaurant style chicken biryani at home.
Ingredients for cooking Chicken Biryani.
- Long Grain Basmati Rice (500 gms for five servings)
- Chicken legs (1 Kg)
- 1 Tablespoon Ginger Garlic Paste
- Salt as required
- 4 Chopped tomatoes
- 2 thinly sliced and fried onions
- 6 tablespoon of plain Yogurt
- Chilli powder as per your taste
- 4 slit Green chilli
- 2 boiled egg
- Refined cooking oil
- Ghee
- 1 tablespoon of Turmeric powder
- 1 tablespoon cumin seeds
- Garam Masala(Bay leaves, cardamom, Cinnamon, cloves)
There are mainly 4 steps for cooking a chicken Biryani:
Step 1- First, take a bowl, put the chicken add turmeric powder, Salt, ginger garlic paste, chilli powder, fried onions, and tomatoes for marinating. Let it rest for 5 to 10 mins. Till then keep the rice in water to soak.
Step 2- After the chicken is marinated, take a deep pan and put it on a medium flame, heat the oil and add ghee, garam masala and cumin seed in it. Then add the chicken stir it well, add some water, put on the lid and let it cook.
Step 3- In the interim, on high flame take a pot add ghee and garam masala, add water and keep it for boiling. When the water boils add the rice and cook it until it's done to 3/4th.
Step 4- Drain the rice, and till now chicken should be almost ready. Stir the chicken add the boiled eggs then add the drained rice on top of the chicken. Don't press the rice just slightly spread it over the pan. Cook it on a high flame for 8 mins and low flame for 2 mins. And then you are ready to eat the biryani
